Renting vs. Buying This Textbook

Renting is usually cheapest if you only need the book for one term: you return it with a free prepaid label when the term ends. Buying used can beat renting when the sell-back price is high, so compare the sell-back price with the rental price before you decide. An eTextbook arrives instantly but usually expires. Rentals and used copies rarely include working access codes.

Always match the ISBN on your syllabus (9780595341160) before you order; different editions have different ISBNs.

About This Book

The novel begins in a different universe, where conditions are unlike those in our own. There is no biology. Instead, over the eons, highly intelligent creatures have evolved, made of plasma. Their civilization has no morals or ethics, and some of their citizens are held in bondage. However, one individual, named Deos, has a strong sense of morality, and devises a way to free the slaves. He constructs a large space ship, and take the slaves with him into our universe, where they wonder from galaxy to galaxy, all the while being pursued by Deos' half brother, Satos. Finally, Deos and his companions end up in our solar system, and eventually, on Earth.
