Renting vs. Buying This Textbook
Renting is usually cheapest if you only need the book for one term: you return it with a free prepaid label when the term ends. Buying used can beat renting when the sell-back price is high, so compare the sell-back price with the rental price before you decide. An eTextbook arrives instantly but usually expires. Rentals and used copies rarely include working access codes.
Always match the ISBN on your syllabus (9780077295257) before you order; different editions have different ISBNs.

The benefit you derive from the laboratory is directly dependent on two things: first, the care with which you perform the experiments and record your observations and, second, your awareness of the relationship between your observations and the general principles under study. Because of time limitations, we cannot investigate in the slow, methodical (often tedious) way scientist do. However, you will have the opportunity to measure, experiment, observe, and discover for yourself. In general, each laboratory exercise consists of the following: Safety box: alerts you to any hazardous materials -- Objectives: explicitly state what you can expect to accomplish -- Introduction: consist of background information to orient you…
